Zapt convinces a reluctant Rassendyll to impersonate Rudolf for the ceremony. In order for Michael to secure his claim to the throne, he must marry his cousin Flavia. It is revealed that Michael is bitter because his mother was not of royal blood, as the younger Rudolf is the heir to the kingdom.
